Congratulations to the IPC #handsoldering competition winners at Focus on PCB in Vicenza, Italy. Over two days, 32 contestants representing 21 Italian companies competed. For the second year, Alessandro Manicone, Elettronica GF, took first prize. In November, he will compete in the IPC #handsoldering World Championship in Munich. Fabio Dotti, Gefran took second place, and Giorgio Agnelli, a student at Politecnico di Milano, took third. All contestants took home cash prizes and gifts from sponsors. The Best Team award was presented to Dynamis PRC – Politecnico di Milano: Giorgio Agnelli, Alessandro Temellini and Lorenzo B. Making an impact in DC! #Electronics industry executives met yesterday in DC for IPC Impact Day, a round of meetings with federal officials to urge action on policies affecting the industry. Last night IPC members arrived in Washington for dinner at the U.S. Capitol. We spent time discussing the impact we're going to make today in a jam-packed day of congressional meetings. This group is going to push Congress to fund the Presidential Determination on #PCBs, take up H.R. 3249 the Protecting Circuit Boards and Substrates Act, and call on the Biden Administration to implement a "Silicon-to-Systems" strategy to build domestic #electronicsmanufacturing. IPC releases the May 2024 Global Sentiment of the #Electronics #SupplyChain Report, showing industry sentiment lower in May than in April but still historically high. In addition, the Labor Costs Index rose three points, while the Material Costs Index increased four points.
